Lauren Geis, recent Hillsboro High School grad, signed a letter of intent April 18 to attend Hutchinson Community College on a livestock judging scholarship. Pictured above with Ben Williams, head coach of the HCC judging team, she plans to judge at Hutch for two years, then move on to a university. Over the past year, Geis has been the Kansas FFA state champion individual; was named the Kansas 4-H state champion individual; placed 12th individually at the Denver, Colo., national judging contest (fifth in cattle, seventh in sheep); was the South Central District FFA champion in livestock; and was the high individual at the Kansas Beef Expo.
