Ford dealer to host fundraiser for USD 410

Ford Motor Co. and Hills?boro Ford-Mercury are again partnering to help raise money in support of Hillsboro High School as part of Ford?s Drive One 4 UR School program. The event will be from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Hillsboro Ford-Mercury dealership, 202 S. Main St., according to Lindy Kampman with Ford. Michael Hagen, a sales representative with Hillsboro Ford-Mercury dealership said he welcomes the opportunity to again participate in the program. ?We are excited to team up with Hillsboro High School to help raise money for their Booster Club,? Hagen said. ?Extracurricular activities are important for students to have access to and we are pleased to help support them through our upcoming event.? Kampman explained how the program works and the way donations are accrued. ?Community members have the opportunity to raise up to $6,000 for Hillsboro High School by test-driving a Ford or Mercury vehicle at Hillsboro Ford-Mercury,? she said. ?For every person from a unique household who test drives a 2011 Taurus, Fusion Hybrid or Sport, Fiesta, Mustang or other Ford or Mercury vehicle, Hillsboro Ford-Mercury will donate $20 to Hillsboro High School. Hillsboro High School will use funds raised for their Booster Club.? Since the start of Ford?s Drive One 4 UR School program in 2007, more than 173,000 people have helped raise $3.3 million-plus for nearly 1,000 high schools across the country. Hillsboro Ford-Mercury has participated in Ford?s Drive One 4 UR School program for more than a year and raised about $5,500 for Hillsboro High School. In addition to raising revenue for high school extracurricular activities, the Drive One 4 UR School program also gives participants the chance to take a look at Ford and Lincoln Mercury?s new cars and leading safety technologies. To participate, Kampman said people should visit Hills?boro Ford-Mercury Sept. 25. ?Participants must be 18 or older and have a valid driver?s license,? she said. ?There is a limit of one test-drive per household.? For Hagen, the event is a win-win situation. ?It will be a fun day for parents, teenagers and other drivers to test drive our high-quality lineup and check out the innovative safety technologies in our latest vehicles.?
