The Marion-Florence FFA Chapter hosted its annual Ag Awareness Day Thursday, May 13, at the Marion football stadium.
About 80 third-graders from Marion and Hillsboro elementary schools participated in the event.
FFA members organized and presented rotational sessions about farming practices involving agricultural equipment, safety and animal agriculture.
Members making presentations were: Ryan Jones and Nick Klenda, mower safety; Jessie Taylor and Dakin Ledford, sheep; Jacob Cope and Aaron Molleker, hay balers; Mason Kukuk and Eric Vogel, tillage equipment; Cara Martin, Cody Carr and Evan Slater, horses; Ronnie Wright and Corey Shields, entomology; Derrick Dvorak and Tyler Wildin, poultry; Justin Siebert and Clark Kroupa, combines; Mitch Ragland and Josh Hiebert, all-terrain vehicle safety; Colton Jeffrey and Montana Percell, swine; Andrew Huber, goats; and Adam Cope and Danny Hett, beef cattle.
The chapter also organized a petting zoo for the students as one of the rotations.
Adviser Mark Meyer said the FFA chapter is grateful to Cooperative Grain & Supply, Prairieland Partners and Straub International for their help with making presentations or supplying animals or equipment for the presentations.
