Members of the Marion-Florence FFA Chapter joined more than 1,500 counterparts from around the state at the 81st annual state convention in Manhattan from May 27-29.
Participants listened to the retiring addresses of the state officers, heard from National FFA President Paul Moya, and listened to several motivational speakers. Delegates from FFA chapters participated in business sessions and selected state officers for the upcoming year.
FFA members from Marion participated in a leadership workshop and attended all six sessions of the convention.
The Marion-Florence FFA chapter was recognized for placing in the silver division (top 20 percent) in the chapter award areas of community development, chapter development and student development.
Members also toured Dymax Inc. in Wamego, which manufactures large excavating attachments as well as the Veterinary Medicine Hospital at Kansas State University.
Attending from Marion were Sam Ehrlich, Louis Holt, Adam Cope, Mitch Ragland, Adam Molleker, Derek Stuchlik, Taylor Harms, Jessie Taylor and Jared Vondenkamp. Mark Meyer and Cindi Ragland accompanied the group as sponsors.
