Educators attend Phi State event

Ten area members of Alpha Omega Chapter, Delta Kappa Gamma International, honor society of outstanding women educators, attended the Phi State Conference April 11-13 at in Hutchinson.

Attending from the area were Pauline Holub, Janine Bateman, Helen Reznicek and Mary Olson from Marion; Mary Regier, Jan Terman, LeOra Grunau and Anita Boese from Hillsboro; Sonja Koslowsky from Peabody, and Neysa Eberhard from Newton.

The theme of the conference was ?Ignite Your Passion.? State President Cindy Baldwin, Galva, encouraged the group to ignite their passions through society business and interest workshops.

Terman, Reznicek and Olson contributed to the Founder?s Banquet Saturday evening with a remembrance of the society?s founders.

At the Sunday morning Friendship Breakfast, Debra Frey of Manhattan spoke of the work she and her husband have done to help rebuild schools in Afghani?stan the past two years.
