College News (February 28, 2018)

◼ Vance Klassen, a Hills­boro High School alum from Lehigh, was named to the Oklahoma City Univer­sity President’s Honor Roll for the fall semester. To qualify, students must complete a minimum of 12 credit hours during the semester while maintaining a GPA of 3.9 or higher.

◼ Three senior students from Hillsboro have been named to the President’s Honor Roll at Oklahoma Baptist University for the 2017 fall semester. To qualify, a student must have a semester grade-point average of 3.7 or higher on a 4.0 scale.

The students are: Emily Jost, studying pre-allied health and rehab science; Emily Sechrist, studying special education/elementary education; and Juliana Sinclair, studying nursing. All three students achieved a 4.0 GPA.

◼ Four students from the Free Press distribution area were among the nearly 1,500 students who completed degree requirements from Kansas State University in fall 2017.

The four students are Augusta Marston of Can­ton, with a Bachelor of Science in agriculture; Aleksandrs Jirgens of Lehigh, with a Bachelor of Science; Clark Kroupa of Lincoln­ville, with a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering; Amanda Stuchlik of Marion, Bachelor of Arts; and Mor­ganne Hamm from Tampa, with a Bachelor of Science in education, Summa Cum Laude.
