College honors

? Among the 2,061 students who completed associate, bachelor?s or graduate degrees at Fort Hays State University this spring are three students from Marion County.

Aidan Cody Winblad, Goessel, graduated with a bachelor of science degrees in physics and mathematics.

Andrea Renae Fish, Hillsboro, graduated with a bachelor of science in elementary education.

Jamie Leigh Spoonemore, Hillsboro, graduated with a bachelor of science in mathematics (teaching).

? Nearly 5,000 undergraduate students at the Univer?sity of Kansas earned honor roll distinction for the spring 2015 semester.

Among them were eight students from the Free Press area: Tad Wedel, Canton, School of Educa?tion; Jecon?iah Spangler, Florence, School of Phar?macy; Jacob Edwards, Hillsboro, School of Phar?macy; Clay Eth?eridge, Lehigh, College of Liberal Arts & Sciences; Caroline Collett, Marion, School of the Arts; Kaelyn Thierolf, Marion, College of Liberal Arts & Sciences; Alicen Whitaker, Marion, School of Education; Taylor Ens?minger, Peabody, School of Music.

Among the nearly 460 Kansas State University students who earned graduation honors with their May 2015 degrees are two graduates from the area.

Derek Stuchlik of Marion graduated Summa Cum Laude, the university?s top graduation honor, with an academic average of 3.95 or higher. Hannah Franzen, Canton, earned Cum Laude with an academic average of 3.750 to 3.848.

? Allison Shields, Lin?coln??ville, earned a bachelor of science degree in marine biology from Southwestern College. Commencement exercises were Sunday, May 10, in Winfield.

From Peabody, Bayleigh A. Clark, bachelor of science, dental hygiene-BS, cum laude.
