COLLEGE BRIEFS (June 10, 2009)

n Hallie Elder Bennett, a 2000 Marion High School graduate, received a master of science degree in urban and regional planning from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, May 16.

n Kelli J. Schafer, a Hills?boro High School alum, received an associate dgree in nursing from Hutchinson Community College May 8.

She recently passed the state?s National Council Licen?sure Examination for Registered Nurses and is employed as a registered nurse and care coordinator at The Cedars in McPherson and with Salem Home in Hills?boro.

n Three Marion County students were named to the Dean?s Honor Roll at Southwestern College in Winfield for the recent spring semester. Jessica Bernhardt, Marion, is a communication major with an emphasis in journalism. Alyssa Carter, Peabody, is a philosophy major with an emphasis in religious. Andrew Topham, Peabody, is a chemistry major.

n Daniel Wiebe, a junior from Hillsboro, was among more than 1,100 students at St. Olaf College in Northfiel, Minn., who was recognized for academic achievement at the college?s annual Honors Day convocation May 1.

n Stephanie Ressler, daughter of Lawrence and Sharon Ressler, Hillsboro, recently received a bachelor of science degree in psychology from Eastern Men?no?nite University, Harrisonburg, Va.
