Chess guild competes at Canton-Galva

HHSChessTourney118.jpg Hillsboro Chess Guild earned team and individual honors Saturday at the Canton-Galva chess tournament. All participants placed among the top 20 in their respective divisions. Hillsboro students Jacob Denholm (second grade), Ben Koop (fifth grade) and Brodie Rathbone (fourth grade) placed second in the team division, with Koop placing third as an individual. Denholm, a sixth grader, placed first in the K-8 division. Also participating for the Hillsboro guild were Michael Christian, Justin King, Marshall Hoffner, Matthew Denholm and Jordan Fryhover.
