Centre?s Granzow to be feted for 32 years

A reception is planned May 29 for Cary Granzow, who will retire after 32 years of service to USD 397 and the Centre FFA Chapter.

The reception will be 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, May 29, at Centre High School. A presentation will be made at 2:30 p.m.

The school is located at 2374 310th St., Lost Springs, or just off of U.S. Highway 77, two miles north of Lincolnville.

During his service Granzow has had much success, including 13 District Star Greenhand awards, nine national qualifying CDE teams, a third-place national creed speaker, 79 State Degree recipients, seven past state officers, 18 American Degree recipients, 14 State Proficiency award winners, three national proficiency-award finalists, one state star farmer, one state star in ag placement, six district star farmers and five former students who are now ag teachers.

He also hosted 10 student teachers and two national titles in par-law invitational and ag management.

Under his guidance, Centre?s agricultural education program was recognized in 2005 as the National Association of Agricultural Educators Region 2 Outstanding Program.
