Centre students win Garst event

Students in the horticulture class at Centre High School recently competed in the Garst Seed Co. national advertising competition. The students developed a public relations campaign and television advertisement.

Centre won the public relations competition and finished second in the television division. The chapter received a check for $1,250 from Garst Seeds for their work. The money will be used for the chapter?s activities.

In addition to the donation, the chapter was recognized at the 2007 National FFA Convention Oct. 24 to 27 in Indianapolis, Ind.

Students in the horticulture class are Bridgette Burns, Brooke Carlson, Betsy Koons, Julie Rziha, and Bermet Zhumakadyr Kyzy. They are taught by Gaea Wimmer.
