On Wednesday, Feb. 13, the Centre Ag Ed seventh graders traveled to Udall High School to participate in the South Central District (SCD) Spring Junior High Ag Ed Academy. This is the second event of it’s kind for the SCD, and provides Middle and Junior High School students with a glimpse of what the FFA and Ag Ed courses have to offer in the future.
Students began the day with a identification test in which they identified 100 agriculture items. Items included things from ag equipment, breeds of animals, cuts of meat, plants, flower, weeds, and insects. Students then participated in a series of workshop rotations from presenters from the KS Department of Agriculture, Farm Bureau, Conservation Districts, State and District FFA Officers. Centre’s Leah Brunner placed 10th in the Identification Test, and the Centre team placed sixth.
Ag Ed students that participated included: Jenna Bittle, Mariah Brasch, Michelle Brasch, Kaigen Brewer, Leah Brunner, Kindleigh Clark, Gentri Holub, Colby Janow, Riley Janow, Santiago Knepp, Nicholas Krch, Karsen Kroupa, Sophia Luna, Paige Madron, Dane Meier, Jenaya Plett, Anthony Potocnik, Dylan Radke, Emilee Remmers, Isabel Rziha, Ellie Smith, Delaney Smith, Allie Stuchlik, and Paige Barton-Whitcomb.
