Jensen Riffel (pictured above) and a group of fellow third- and fourth-graders called the Centre iTeam demonstrated how to use the iPad to 40 teachers at a March 9 staff development gathering for the DeSoto school district, located between Lawrence and Kansas City. The students told the teachers about learning with the iPads and demonstrated several apps. The DeSoto district will be getting iPads next fall. Accompanying the students were teachers Candace Tajch?man and Jean Brunner. ?I found it quite impressive that our students were asked to educate staff in the Kansas City area,? said Superintendent Jerri Kemble. The iTeam participated in a similar demonstration at the Domestic Science Club and at the TEEN Mashup in Herington. The students also demonstrate the educational use of the iPad to teachers from school districts that come to Centre to see its one-to-one iPad educational environment.
