Centre SADD chapter plans school-wide ?Decision Day?

Centre High School?s Students Against Destruc?tive Decisions chapter will be hosting a school-wide ?Decision Day? at the school April 7.

As part of the event, CHS students are invited to enter an essay contest and have the chance to receive an iPad donated by Tri-County Tele?phone Co., Council Grove.

TCT also donated $200 toward the event.

?Decision Day? will feature two speakers and a series of decision-making activities. These activities include a seat-belt race, driving trivia prize game, a presentation by Peabody Burns SADD chapter officers, and question and answer sessions.

The essay contest will be announced at the closing ceremony.

Centre?s SADD chapter was launched in 2014?by students, for students. Since then, members have participated in a variety of activities. Among them:

? ?Sticker Shock,? when students teamed with local law enforcement and placed underage drinking awareness stickers on alcoholic packages at liquor stores around the county.

? ?bombing? the CHS parking lot with sucker candy that had safe driving messages, such as, ?Don?t be a sucker, don?t text and drive.?

With many new interested students and lots of ideas, the Centre SADD students are excited to finish the program of work for this year and work to make next year successful, according to Angela Basore, chapter sponsor.
