Centre Greenhands attend district conference Sept. 18

Centre FFA Greenhands traveled to Kingman High School Sept. 18 for the South Central District Greenhand Conference.

More than 300 Greenhands—first-year FFA members—from around the district came to experience FFA beyond their individual chapters.

The morning started with the FFA opening ceremonies officiated by the district officer team, followed by a welcome and opening message from Greg Peterson of the Peterson Farm Brothers.

He shared about his FFA experience and the beginning of the endeavor that is now the parodies of the Peterson Farm Brothers on youtube.com.

FFA members then went through a series of rotational workshops/talks about FFA and agriculture. Presenters included the SCD officers, Kansas FFA State officers John Kennedy and Marie Reveles, Kansas’ National FFA officer candidate, Kyler Langvardt, and representatives from the Kansas Department of Agriculture, MKC Cooperative and John Deere.

Members took the FFA Greenhand information test as part of the rotations.
