The Centre FFA traveled to Arkansas City Dec. 2 for the South Central District Public Speaking, Leadership School and Job Interview Career Development Events.
Placing first in the Fresh?men Division of the Prepared Public Speaking CDE was Cassidy Hill; Tabitha Oborny was 11th.
In the Junior Division, Kevin Lewis placed second and Karl Riffel sixth.
In the Senior Division, Theo Kassebaum placed third and will advance to state in May; Carrie Carlson placed seventh.
Overall, the Centre teams placed third in the event.
Others competing in the Freshmen Division were Shelby Makovec, Callie Riffel, Kailyn Riffel, Brenna Shields, Conner Montgomery, and Mark Vinduska.
In the Creed Speaking CDE, Nellie Kassebaum placed first and Jared Barney send; both will be representing Centre and the district at state in May.
In the Job Interview CDE, Kevin Lewis placed second and qualified for state in May; Karl Riffel placed ninth.
In the Leadership School CDE, the Greenhand Par-Law team placed third. The team consisted of Nellie Kassebaum, Tabitha Oborny, Brenna Shields, Kailyn Riffel, Shelby Makovec, and Callie Riffel. It also placed sixth in the Greenhand FFA Ritual CDE.
Placing seventh in the Green?hand Ritual CDE was the team of Cassidy Hill, Conner Montgomery, Mark Vinduska, Jared Barney, Justin Bina and Dakota Stimpson.
The Senior Par-Law CDE team placed third. Team members were Makenzie Deines, Carrie Carlson, Ty Simons, Bryanna Svoboda, Kevin Lewis, and Theo Kassebaum.
Participating in the FFA Information Test were Justin Bina and Dakota Stimpson, who placed ninth. Overall they placed ninth as a team in the Info Test.
In the overall Leadership School, Centre placed sixth.
