Centre FFA members compete at district events

Centre FFA Members traveled to Ark City Dec. 6 to participate in the South Central District Leadership School and Public Speaking Career Development Events.

Within the public speaking areas, Kevin Lewis placed second and qualified for the state extemporaneous public speaking career development event and Karl Riffel placed sixth.

Nellie Kassebaum placed 10th in the senior division and Cassidy Hill placed eighth in the junior division. Also participating in the junior division was Courtney Hett.

In the leadership school competition, members took an information test. The scores ranked Centre fifth overall with Kevin Lewis, Timothy Vinduska, Karl Riffel, Cassidy Hill, Hannah Peterson and Makenzie Deines participating.

In the parliamentary procedure CDE, the Centre senior and Greenhand teams placed fifth. Participants were Bryanna Svoboda, Kevin Lewis, Makenzie Deines, Nellie Kassebaum, Timothy Vinduska, Ty Simons, Brendon Bina, Cole Methvin, Daniel Rudolph, Dylan Deines, Greg Oborny and James Spohn.

The Greenhand Par-Law team also participated in the FFA Ritual CDE. Members of the senior ritual team placed sixth. They were Ty Simons, Nellie Kassebaum, Bryanna Svoboda, Karl Riffel, Kevin Lewis and Makenzie Deines.

Deines was named the overall senior division master ritual secretary.

In the creed speaking CDE, she said, Hannah Peterson and Dylan Deines participated. In the overall leadership school calculations, Centre placed fourth.
