Centre FFA fetted for public speaking

Centre FFA hosted the South Central District speech and job-interview contests Dec. 1, and placed third in the public-speaking contest.

Among the top 10 finishers in the freshmen division were Jacob Jirak (third), Cole Svoboda (fifth) and Ripley Howard (ninth). In the junior division, Nathan Barney finished seventh and Heath Hill placed ninth.

Nellie Hill finished first in extemporaneous speaking and will compete at state in June.

Other students who competed were: Ben Baker, Tanner Brunner, Brian Burhoop, Amanda Floyd, Tyler Klenda, Katie Remy, Dallas Rosenow, Allison Shields and Benjamin Wirtz.

Three Centre students competed in the job interview event. Kristine Jirak finished second, Nellie Hill, third, and Betsy Koons, 10th. Jirak and Hill qualified for the state competition in June.
