Centre FFA attends state banquet

Centre FFA attended the South Central District FFA banquet at Buhler High School Monday, April 20.

Theo Kassebaum presented the FFA Creed, said Gaea Wimmer, agricultural education and FFA adviser at Centre.

?Theo will compete at state at the end of May,? she said.

Centre FFA members were recognized as winners on the district level in several areas.

Those included:

n Alex Hajek winning Beef Production Proficiency award.

n Cole Svoboda winning the Vegetable Production Proficiency award.

n Brian Burhoop was named the 2009 Star Greenhand in Production.

n Cole Svoboda was named the 2009 Star Greenhand in Placement.

n Nathan Barney and Heath Hill were recognized for qualifying for their state degree. They will be awarded this degree at the state FFA Convention in May.

n Tanner Brunner was elected the 2009-10 South Central District Vice President.

n Cole Svoboda was elected the 2009-10 South Central District Sentinel.

?Centre had 22 guests, including FFA members, parents, and advisors, attending the event,? she said.
