Bennie Holtsclaw to perform at April 26 learning in Retirement

Music lovers are invited to hear some of their old favorites at the Monday, April 25, Learning in Retirement session at Tabor College in Hillsboro.

Bennie Holtsclaw, from Cedar Point, will present the program, ?Red Wing and Other Songs from Memory Lane,? starting at 9:45 a.m. in the Wohlegmuth Music Education Center lobby.

Holtsclaw has been performing gospel and country music both nationally and locally for 39 years. The Kansas native began his career at his local church in Wonsevu in 1972. At the time, he was also running a farm near Cedar Point.

Before long, Holtsclaw?s performances gained in popularity and he began traveling to perform for churches and conventions around the nation. Holts?claw stopped traveling in 1986 for health reasons.

Learning in Retirement sessions meet regularly throughout Tabor?s fall and spring semesters. Fees for the sessions are $4 for an individual session or $15 for the whole semester. Couples can register for the semester for $29. Registration at the door begins 30 minutes before the program.
