Hillsboro High School band students will be going to state competition after receiving ?I? ratings at the regional solo/ensemble contest Saturday at Tabor College in Hillsboro.
Matthew Wiebe and Sara Jones received a ?I? for their solos, said Gregg Walker, director of Hillsboro Trojan Band.
The percussion ensemble received a superior rating and will be going again to state ensemble contest and the trumpet ensemble received an excellent rating.
The flute ensemble, flute trio, clarinet ensemble and sax trio received an average rating.
