Tabor College will present “The Romantic Ballade,” the faculty recital of pianist J. Bradley Baker at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 5, in the Richert Auditorium of the Shari Flaming Center for the Arts.
Baker is an accomplished artist whose performances have been heard in concert halls throughout the United States and Canada. He has earned degrees from North Dakota State University, Cleveland Institute of Music and the University of Alabama.
“I’m so pleased to present this passionate Romantic period repertoire as my first featured solo piano recital at Tabor,” Baker said.
Baker serves as assistant professor of music the Tabor College as well as piano and collaborative piano, director and piano instructor for the Tabor College Music Preparatory School, and is the principal pianist for the Wichita Symphony Orchestra.
The recital will feature ballades from Chopin and Liszt, who were both prolific composers and virtuoso pianists of the 19th century.
The Shari Flaming Center for the Arts is located on the campus of Tabor College at 400 S. Jefferson St. in Hillsboro. There is no charge for admission to the recital.
