Canton-Galva?The Eagles split a pair of games Elyria Christian Friday.

The girls lost, 52-47. Canton-Galva trailed 26-15 at halftime and despite outscoring Elyria 32-26 in the second half, could not overcome the deficit. Cassidy Enns led the Eagles with a game-high 26 points.

The Eagles (0-1)?will play in the Goessel tournament this week with games on Monday, Friday and Satur?day.

Goessel?The Bluebirds dropped both games in their season opener Friday at Inman Friday.

The girls lost, 51-41. Inman led 22-16 at halftime. Page Hiebert led Goessel with 15 points.

The Bluebird boys, meanwhile, lost to Inman, 55-45.

Inman led 21-16 at halftime. Ben Wiens led Goessel with 28 points on 62 percent shooting from the field.

The Bluebirds will host the Goessel tournament this week.

Peabody-Burns?The Warriors dropped two games to Chase County Friday.

The girls? lost, 62-10. Chase County built a 39-0 lead by halftime.

Christa Elliott and Brianna Larsen each scored two baskets in the third quarter for PBHS, and Larsen added an additional basket in the final quarter to lead the Warriors in scoring with six points.

The Warriors (0-1) will participate in the Marion Classic this week, facing Eureka (1-0) Thursday and Remington (1-0) Friday. The tournament will conclude Saturday.

The boys? team lost to the Bulldogs, 57-44. The Warriors led 21-20 at halftime, but Chase County took control in the second half.

Garret Schroeder led the Warriors with eight points.

Like the girls, the boys team (0-1)?will participate in the Marion Classic this week, opening against Eureka (1-0)?Thursday and following with a contest against Remington (0-1) Friday.
