50+ people join Relay For Life opening survivor walk

More than 50 cancer survivors get ready to walk the southwest curve of the Joel Wiens Stadium track Friday in Hillsboro. The Marion County Relay for Life Survivor Walk honors those who are continuing their fight against cancer and are winning the battle. The event, sponsored by the American Cancer Society, teams family, friends or co-workers together to raise money and awareness in furthering cancer education, research and service programs. Although this year?s total was unavailable at press time, officials were hoping to meet or exceed last year?s donations of more than $49,500.
