Thanks, Vogt?s, for standing in the gap

Between the time McDonald?s closed and Wendy?s opened, Vogt?s Hometown Market provided the community a great service by making breakfast available for the community at 6 a.m.

Vogt?s did not normally open until 7 a.m., but opened early for this group of men. At the prices they charged, I'm sure it was not for the money. Where else could you get two menu items, coffee and the newspaper, plus the fellowship of other community members, for $2.14?

Last week this service was discontinued because of staffing. I?m sure all who used this service greatly appreciated Vogt?s for going the extra mile.

Thanks Vogt?s!

Blood donors made a lifesaving impact

Thank you to everyone who worked and gave blood on Monday, Dec. 29, at Parkview Church. Each person who gave made a lifesaving impact on others through their contribution.

Despite the busy holiday season, we almost made our goal of 60 pints. We collected 57 good units of blood and we had six first-time donors.

The next blood drive in Hills?boro is planned for March 2.
