Goessel event was special for the kids
The Goessel community enjoyed a special holiday event Sunday when Santa Claus came to the old blacksmith shop.
I want to thank the Goessel Task Force, which sponsored the event, Donna and Wes Duerksen for getting the blacksmith shop ready, Jerry and Dennis Schroeder for their equipment and the carolers for coming out on a cold night to support that event.
Sometimes we think our kids are selfish when it comes to Christmas, always thinking of what they want for gifts. Two notes kids left for Santa touched my heart. One girl wanted her grandpa to get out of the hospital, and one boy wanted a truck ?just like Grandpa?s.?
That told me how important our family relationships are to our kids. I was impressed.
