Boy Scouts grateful for HCF grant

On behalf of the Boy Scouts of Troop 129, their parents and the leaders of the troop, I would like to thank the Hillsboro Com?munity Foundation for its generous $1,300 grant.

This contribu??tion to our program has enabled us to purchase 14 Coleman tents. The tents will add to the uniformity and safety of our outdoor program, not to mention actually keeping the rain and bugs out.

This grant saved us many additional fundraising events, and that will enable us to spend more time on our Scouting program. The time we spend learning about citizenship, duty to God, confidence and competence in the outdoors and innumerable skills is what will prepare these young men to be leaders in the future.

I do not think that time spent fundraising has as much positive effect.

So again, thank-you HCF for your contribution to our troop, our community and our future.
