Kid Scoop offered a timely resource

How excited I was when I opened the Free Press last Tuesday and saw that the Kid Scoop topic was money.

Our reading story in our second-grade reading book this week is about money?taken from the book, ?In the Money: A Book About Banking,? by Nancy Loewen. What a great tie-in to what we?re studying!

One student even pulled out her Kid Scoop when we were talking about ?deposits? and ?withdrawals? to show us the graphic that showed the difference between the two.

Thanks again to you and the Kid Scoop sponsors for this great resource! We appreciate the community?s support. Hillsboro State Bank will be hosting us again this year for a tour this morning to allow us to see firsthand what we?ve been learning.

Leos Club grateful for 93 winter coats

On behalf of the HHS Leos, thank-you to the Hills?boro community for the donation of coats at our recent coat drive. We collected 93 winter coats, which were given to a shelter for distribution to needy children and adults.

Because of your generosity, many people will receive the gift of warmth this Christmas.
