Time for cities to correct their mistake

I would like to thank Alan Goldsby for his factual and informative letter concerning the lawsuit over atrazine (May 6 issue).

Sometimes it is too easy to be persuaded when notified of a pending lawsuit and join a class action lawsuit without having accurate and complete information.

We have quality leaders in Hillsboro and Marion who have been chosen to make decisions on our behalf. My hope is that they will make their decisions on more than an opportunity at an easy dollar and do appropriate research before joining an action such as this.

It would be appropriate for those leaders to now recognize that a mistake has been made and withdraw from participating in this lawsuit. This would allow our communities to continue to be a place that we all can be proud of and call home.

We live in a great community and let?s continue to be in the spotlight for the many positives that it has to offer and not because of a wrong decision made by our city leaders.

Tabor concert was a treat for community

As a music graduate of Tabor College, I want to express my appreciation for the superb spring concert that the music department made available to our community this past Sunday night.

Each ensemble and student soloist lived up to the standard I?ve come to expect from my alma mater under the skilled leadership of (Richard) Cantwell and (Brad) Vogel.

(Sheila) Litke was awesome in the piano concerto, and ?kudos? also to the excellent community orchestra in their accompaniment of the premier performance of Larry Warkentine?s new cantata.

I feel justly proud to have been a fellow student with Larry as well as a part of the music faculty in the late ?60s. What a rich heritage of musical artistry is so readily available to us for a community this size.

Thank you, again, Tabor College! May our community and the supporting constituency continue to appreciate this excellent musical legacy.

Gospel music was welcomed at Wendy?s

What a pleasant surprise! In your lovely community of Hillsboro I enjoyed a well-run Wendy?s with the best service?and heard soft, gospel contemporary music playing in the background.

This was an absolutely delightful surprise. The CD chosen was generic in nature and pleasant to the ears. What a treat in our mixed-up world of today.
