Winter Heroes

Mother Nature seems intent on making this winter a memorable one. Between the frigid cold snap a few weeks ago and multiple ?snow events? along the way, who isn?t beginning to fantasize of spring-time green? Then again, maybe we always yearn for spring by the time February rolls around.

The way this winter has gone so far, we probably can brace ourselves for a few more storms before the season passes for good. Last week?s heavy snow reminded us again how much we appreciate the efforts of city, county and state employees who work long hours to keep the traffic of life flowing along our streets, roads and highways in the midst of these challenging conditions. Tight budgets at all levels make it even more difficult to satisfy an impatient public. But we tip our hats nonetheless, and wish you an early ?retirement? from the current winter season. ?DR
