Whisper

Symphony in the Flint Hills is over, and most of those of us who were privileged to attend the fourth annual event came away with an even greater appreciation for the beautiful environment of our great state. The view of those rolling, lush-green hills is panoramic, yet soothingly understated. As one reader reminded us during the concert, the natural, scenic endowments on either coast shout for attention while the endowments of Kansas whisper. Our state?s beauty is subtle, not flamboyant. As a result, some miss it entirely. Let them chase the obvious. We will revel in the profound. ?DR
