The news that Mike Gardner is returning to Tabor College as its next head football coach is a good thing for the college and the community. We wish him and his family the very best as they return to Hillsboro in the next few weeks.
Welcoming a good man to that challenging position dulls the pain of seeing a good man resign from it a few weeks ago. In our observation, Mike Gottsch was successful in every way at Tabor College except wins and losses. We hope he and his family find a way to stay here in another capacity. We?d like to think that would be win-win for all of us. If that?s not in the plan, we wish the Gottsch family the next-best future. ?DR
