Sports mecca

Marion County has become a hotbed for state high school sports this week. It began last Friday and Saturday when the Class 3-2-1A state tennis tournament came to the Sports Complex in Hillsboro, hosted by the local high school. Harry Faber, an HHS senior, placed 11th at that event.

This week, regional tournaments have begun for Class 3A softball and baseball. Hillsboro and Marion high schools are hosting two different regionals for softball, while Hillsboro has added a baseball tournament as well. This weekend, the Marion track and stadium will be home for a 3A regional meet in track and field.

This is a unique opportunity for Marion and Hillsboro fans to support their students as they try to reach the high level of competition next week at state events. Best wishes to all our teams. ?DR
