Pathetic process

We have a better idea how the state?s new school-funding law will impact our area school districts. Hillsboro is taking a bold step to make lemonade out of this lemon-like law by advancing a plan to parlay a portion of the district?s property-tax reduction into more state money support, courtesy of richer school districts.
But it?s the due-process portion of the bill that?s more frustrating?not so much in regard to its implications, but in regard to the process. Thrown into the pot in the wee hours of the morning prior to the vote?with no review or study in committee, or any discussion on the floor?the actions of the Legislature were anything but transparent. Our schools are the future of our state. Our legislators came up with an answer, but they refused to show their work ?DR
