Over the top

Hillsboro High School event organizers have never shied away from recruiting top-notch programs to its athletic tournaments, but this year?s Trojan Classic girls? field is over-the-top good. When the seeds were selected last week, five of the eight teams were undefeated; six were ranked among the top six teams in the state within their respective size classifications.

At the time, Hillsboro was ranked No. 1 Class 2A, Hesston held the top spot in 3A and Wamego led the pack in Class 4A-Division I. Meanwhile, Riley County was No. 2 in 3A and Holcomb was No. 4. Goodland ranked sixth in Class 4A-Division 2.

Every year, high school girls? basketball gets better and better. If you want to see it at its best, you won?t find a better place to spend some time than the Trojan Classic. ?DR
