Longtime green

Soil conservation is an old idea that deserves renewed popularity in this age of ecological awareness. It?s never been more popular in our culture to be aware of our environment, protect our natural resources and hold forth for a green planet. It may be the new urban chic, but the rural chic has been doing it for decades by caring for the soil, the literal seedbed of life and renewable energy.

Soil conservation is the ?perfect storm? of good-earthkeeping. It?s environmentally smart, it works, and it actually makes business sense. Once again we salute the many faithful land stewards in our area. You were ?green? long before the concept took root. ?DR
