Congratulations to those who contributed to the planning and execution of this year?s Marion County Fair. A particular tip of the hat to those who scheduled the unusually pleasant weather. Your next assignment should be to recruit bands for the parade from all five high schools in the county instead of only one.
This year?s fair had many of the traditional features, but it offered enough new opportunities to give it a refreshing dimension. In particular, the participation of the Marion County Fire Chiefs Association through the ?Fire Jam 2009? concert series and the fireworks extravaganza during the demolition derby was a positive addition?even though the concerts drew small crowds.
