In the 2009 Hillsboro Annual Report that we’ve inserted in this week’s Free Press, you will encounter the economic lifeblood of this town. In addition to the ads that trumpet the wide range of products and services our local businesses offer, we again are running profiles of every and any business that chose to participate—around 100.
We encourage you to browse through this compendium of commerce. More than a business guide, it’s a testimony to the entrepreneurial spirit that resides in this area. Having entered the “real world” of business when we launched this newspaper in 1998, we know the challenge of operating a small business. It isn’t easy. But it’s worth the investment of blood, sweat and tears. The can-do spirit is at home in this town. —DR
