Police chase stolen car through Hillsboro

Many in Hillsboro began their morning hearing sirens on Monday, May 13.

According to a press release from the Hillsboro Police Department, at 6:10 a.m. a Hillsboro Police Officer was taking a vehicle theft report at 306 N. Birch from Quadaloupe Sosme who reported that her 2013 GMC Terrain had been stolen overnight.

As the officer took the report, the same vehicle was being pursued by McPherson County into Marion County and identified as a suspect vehicle in multiple burglaries within McPherson County.

Hillsboro Police, as well as units from McPherson County, pursued the stolen vehicle within the city of Hillsboro before the stolen vehicle exited the city limits heading West on 190th. The vehicle then turned South on Holly Rd. and traveled about 1⁄4 mile before driving into the east ditch after a Hillsboro Police unit had incidental contact with the vehicle.

There were three suspects in the stolen vehicle who all ran from the vehicle, but all were taken into custody without further incident. All three suspects were transported by McPherson County units to the McPherson County Jail.

The stolen vehicle was taken to the Hillsboro AutoHouse tow yard.

At the time of the release, the identities of the suspects had not been released to the Hillsboro Police

Department. The report is pending as it is still an active investigation.
