Marion Merchants Association was pleased with the crowd that came out for their 4th annual Holly Jolly Christmas event especially given the inclement weather.
“Several folks came from out of town because they had seen it advertised on Facebook,” said Marion Merchants Association member and Historic Elgin Hotel owner Tammy Ensey.
This year some new activities were added such as the barrel train rides at CB Baked Goods, the manmade snow at the Historic Elgin Hotel and pinecone gnomes at Zera Coffee.
“Those seemed to be a great hit,” said Ensey. “The live reindeer, photos with Santa, sleigh rides with Santa and Mrs. Claus, Jingle n’ Mingle, free sugar cookies, elf on the shelf hunt, the cookie exchange and the lighted Christmas parade continue to be favorites as well. Fun shopping opportunities and places to dine are also essential to completing the event. Marion Merchants looks forward to adding even more to the event next year.”
