The City of Hillsboro and Core Community of Marion County hosted a job fair for Marion County on Monday to help connect those who are hiring with those in need of jobs. Over a dozen agencies participated in the fair that lasted from 2-7 p.m. People could get information and ask questions as well as fill out applications.
The fair came about as a result of organizers Tracy Lowe of Core Community of Marion County and Hillsboro Mayor Lou Thurston recognizing how many employers were looking for employees and how many residents in Marion County need jobs.
“Lou and I were talking about it, and then we just decided to jump in with both feet and do it,” said Lowe.
Lowe was pleased with the turnout and hopeful that people were able to be matched with jobs.
