The Marion County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Station 2 in Hillsboro hosted an open house on Saturday, April 13 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. for the public to check out the facility and enjoy a meal, bounce house and games.

“We’ve had quite a few people come in and sit down and eat and visit. It’s been a good time. A lot of primarily Hillsboro folks passing by to grab a free lunch,” said Marion County EMS Director Chuck Kenney. “We had all the county commissioners stop by. We also had some out of the Hillsboro area, rural farmers stop by, visit and chit chat and just kind of ask questions about how do you guys get to my house when it’s wet and rainy and stuff like that. Just concerning questions that they had.”

The station has been open and operating since the spring of 2022, but the department was waiting for the sign to be completed and installed before holding an open house for the public to attend and check out the facility. The facility is located at 410 N. Ash in Hillsboro next to the Hillsboro Police Department.
