Local students sign with colleges

Canton-Galva senior Andre Patton signed on Nov 6 with the Central Christian College Wrestling team in McPherson. Attending the signing were his mother Dawn Korbe, Central Christian coach Tom Carr, and Hillsboro coach Scott O’Hare. Canton-Galva’s wrestling program is done in cooperation with the Hillsboro program. Andre has also been on the football and baseball teams at Canton-Galva. Andre hasn’t decided on a major yet but is interested in agricultural science. When asked why he chose Central Christian, he said, “I wanted to stay close to home, and the school was the best fit for me because I have been wrestling there for many years already [with youth programs]. My main goals are to earn a varsity spot on the team on the team and to complete the season with a winning record. I decided to pursue wrestling in college because I love the sport. I also have been doing it for the longest, and it is the most fun for me.”

Hillsboro High School Senior Regan James signs with Tabor College where she will be a cheerleader as her parents and coaches look on.
