Sunday house fire results in no injuries at Marion

A non-injury house fire in Marion Sunday morning caused an estimated $4,000 to $5,000 in damage to a back bedroom.

According to Marion City Fire Chief Mike Regnier, a neighbor reported the fire at 810 Hudson just before 9 a.m.

?It pretty much stayed in one bedroom,? he said, ?and with nobody home at the time, there were no injuries.?

Most of the fire was contained to the back of the house, he said, resulting in some back windows breaking.

Three fire trucks were sent to fight the blaze and Marion police blocked one of the nearby streets while fire hoses were in use, Regnier said. Firefighters cleared the scene about three hours later.

The cause of the fire has yet to be determined.

According to the Marion County appraiser?s records, the house is owned by Timothy Hett.
