Making Sunday a fun day

Sunday turned out to be a profitable day for five enterprising young people in Hillsboro. Included from left to right are: Cheyanne Plenert, 9, Cohwen Heimann, 8, Alex Heimann, 12, Jocelyn Smith, 9, and Cheyenne Smith, 8. It was the first lemonade stand Alex said he and his brother, Cohwen, operated. But, Cheyenne said, she and the other two girls have sold lemonade on Ash Street near Casey’s General Store a few times before. Alex explained the location on Main Street, across from the post office, was good because it was hot, and their stand was set up in a shaded area. Plus, he said, they had a lot of traffic at that corner. The stand ended up grossing more than $20, which ended up being a lucrative day for all five.
