With the weather getting colder, staying healthy and avoiding germs is on everyone’s minds.
On Saturday, Marion County is hosting a health fair to help out with just that. From 8-11 a.m. On Saturday, Nov 2, the Marion County Health Fair is being held at the USD 408 Sports and Aquatic Center at 104 N. Thorp in Marion.
It is open to the public and there anyone can visit with local vendors to find out about various health and wellness services available in Marion County.
Some of the features being offered are:
◼ Inexpensive lab work
◼ Free carotid artery ultra sound screenings (very popular)
◼ Flu shots available from the Health Department, including a limited amount of free vaccine, provided by the State of Kansas, for adults who have no insurance.
◼ Fun for children ages 12 and under – Spiderman in Action. Meet Rosie the Skunk from Atmos Energy, pet Fred the Preparedness Dog, go on a scavenger hunt – every child guaranteed to receive a certificate for an ice cream treat
There will be prize drawings throughout the fair provided by area businesses such weather radios, certificate for a massage, Pak n’ Play, coffee and other delectable edibles coming from Hillsboro and Marion shops, along with gift baskets. Every adult who visits the various exhibitors is eligible for a drawing and you don’t need to be present to win. There will be multiple small prizes and one grand prize.
