Members and friends of First Mennonite Church in Hillsboro gathered Sunday to dedicate the new playground area the church has established for children of the congregation and community. The project was funded in part by the church?s Pumpkin Patch project that was initiated last fall and is set to open again on Sunday. In addition to the playground, the dedication service included the new courtyard behind the playground area. Music for service was provided by the Book of JEBB. The event followed the monthly carry-in meal, which featured grilled hot dogs.
