Hillsboro Arts and Crafts Fair cancels event

A debate around Hillsboro for weeks, even months, has been the Hillsboro Arts and Crafts Fair and if it will be held or canceled.

Late Monday night, a decision was made and the public was notified the final decision had been made.

“We regret to inform you that the 2020 Hillsboro Arts and Crafts Fair has been canceled due to COVID-19 concerns. This was a very hard decision and was not made lightly. We have to do our best to keep vendors, shoppers and our local community safe during this time. We are already looking forward to the 2021 Fair and hope you will join us,” said Director Cait Hall on their Facebook page.

The committee struggled with the choice and waited as long as they could before making the final decision.

“We know it has a negative impact on the entire community, especially local businesses, but this decision was made to keep our community safe during this time,” said Hall.
