HHS students compete in robotics tournament

Hillsboro High School students participated in the Viking High School Tipping Point Robotics tournament at Seaman HS in Topeka on Saturday.

Hillsboro TroBotics had two teams compete: 4101B The Confusionees and 4101J Off Balance. The Confusionees, consisting of first timers Ariana Seaman and Romero Cruz, ranked 20th in qualifications and placed 13 in robot skills.

Veteran competitor Zachary Denholm, 4101J Off Balance, ranked 1st in qualifications and placed 4th in robot skills. Denholm went undefeated all the way to tournament champion— a first-time occurrence for Hillsboro. Denholm’s placings qualify him for the state tournament.

The team will next host the Hillsboro Tipping Point robotics tournament on Feb. 12 in the middle-school gym.
