Group donates hay and supplies to those impacted by fires

A semi-truck headed out to western Kansas loaded down with hay from farms in Marion County to help those impacted by the fires on Dec. 15. Mike Houser of Solomon and several others have been taking turns hauling hay and other supplies from several counties to those who need it.

Last week the Free Press reported on efforts a group, led by Jonas Frantz and Kelly Novak, have been making to send hay and other supplies to those impacted by the fires in central and western Kansas. Thanks to so many generous people, including Frantz and Novak, fencing supplies and several loads of hay have been delivered with plans for even more to be delivered. There have also been generous monetary donations given to the fire fund at Tampa State Bank. Anyone can continue to donate supplies, hay or money. Call Frantz at 785-366-0794 or 785-965-7165 or Novak at 785-366-0419 (the number we reported for Novak last week was incorrect so please use this one instead).
